Mother and child must be kept together for the sake of both. To help in this great work is thc object of this fund. Lire has received $114,30850, from which 646,- been remitted to France. A contribution of seventy-three dollars provides that for two years a destitute French child, orphaned by the war, will be kept with its mother or relatives instead of being sent to a public institution, where its chances of survival are less than in a family environment, During this critical period in the child’s life its welfare is looked after and the funds dis- bursed by “The Fatherless Children of France,” an or tion officered by eminent French men and women.
