Bs * 2PEa ' ea | Our News Columns in 1950 “GREELEY AT EASE” was the sub- ject of a recent debate by the In- ternational Safety at Ease Convention, which meets once a year, having ac- quired this habit since a disaster to a steamer called the Titanic, which oc- curred many years ago and in which some lives were lost. It is believed that if the convention meets regularly every year, that in the course of time enough lifeboats will be provided to take away passengers. The convention, having enthusiastically adopted every resolution, adjourned. Only four thousand were killed or injured in the streets of New York yesterday. Our city is to be congratu- lated on a number fewer than any day for several weeks past. Yesterday afternoon a young woman was seen walking down Fifth Avenue with clothes on, She was followed by a large crowd.
