This so infuriates the lad that he shoots his father before he can discover that his grandmother was really Buffalo Bill. The big scene, of course, shows Nickie refusing to divulge any reason for the mur- der because it will mean disgrace for his mother, the Governor's wife. “The Noose” teaches a great moral lesson and every youth in the land should sce it. It just shows that if a parent annoys you the thing to do is to shoot it. A? comedy “The Circus” is very amusing, as a motion picture it is scrupulously made, and as a Chaplin picture, it is one of the finest he has ever pro- duced. All the local reviewers panned it. No two of them gave the criticism—they agreed, however, that any artist who is liked by a multitude must be rotten, so they proceeded to pan his picture on the strength of this assumption. These same fellows slept through “Sunrise,” and consider- ing their scorn for the lack of art in Hollywood it might be well for them to toss off a couple of bromo seltzers and wipe the cigarette smoke from their worldly eyes before seeing pic- tures such as “The Circus’ and “Sunrise.” It would at least give comicbooks.com
