FAREWELL DINNER GIVEN By Judge Jr. Roosevelt Field, Jan, 28.— At six o'clock this morning we were n forced to postpone our flig owing to inclement weather or something we et. After a delightful dinner given us by Mayor Walker we were carricd out to the field only to find it too foggy to take off. In fact, it was so foggy that we got lost and I discovered that instead of carry ing the suitcases I had started out with [ was carrying Mae, and he thought that he was being carried on the shoulders of his cheering friends. The farewell dinner was such a success that Mayor Walker, or Jimmy, as we fondly call him, says he is going to give us one every week. The grand ballroom of the Ritz was crowded with celebrities and the evening was replete with songs, AAT jokes, and funny sayings. Presi- dent Coolidge was and he had the diners in stitches with his swift toastmaster, seven hundred sallics. Gloria Swanson sat on my right and Bobbe Arnst on my left, and if the girls will forgive a little good-natured kidding 1 will say that [ was indeed a rose between two thorns! Heh, heh! The affair was broadcast Station WET by Graham Cracker and we'll see if we can't get some of the celebrities to say something into the “mike to you Here's Little Abie Hirschberger, the booking agent for our trip, Folks.
