This is the fifth time in as many months that Nate has been inside looking out; he has been jugged for everything from stammering to being fulsome in a public place. Nate gets fulsome every week-end on a couple of bottles of kiimmel and three shots of cointreau and is a great trial to the cop on the beat. He is a Danish boy and, besides being an artist, has written several books; in addition to “The Sun Also Rises,” “The Goose Hangs High,” and “The Works of Max Beerbohm,” he has writ- ten a handbook on evading the issue which is used as a textbook at Rutgers. In his spare time he makes books at Saratoga and Lexington, although his agree- ments are rarely “binding” (ah, there, Nate!).
