Judging the Shows (Continued from page 16) of the show, the assemblage was of the kind that made one long for the return of the Romanoffs. “Princess Flavia” had to be the admirable show it is to triumph over an audi- ence as thoroughly offensive as this one. 0 ‘gE City Cuap” is a musical version of “The Fortune Hun- ter.” It has as good-looking a lot of chorus baggages as are on view in Walkerville at the moment, and that about lets it out. The M. Dilling- ham has put the show on with his usual good taste, but why he wasted his valuable energies on so conven- tional a dish is a matter for specula- tion. It is possible that more talented performers might have given the affair the life it presently lacks, but those who have been hired to mer- chant the show are not sufficient shakes. The featured player is one Richard Skeet Gallagher, who has persuaded some one to insert a line into the dialogue alluding to his resemblance to the Prince of Wales and who devotes the entire evening to a laborious attempt to look as much like that gentleman as possible. There are now some two or three hundred young actors hereabout who imagine that they resemble the Prince, chiefly on the score that they own a double-breasted gray suit and fasten their collars with a gold pin. These preposterous zanies provide us with about the best laugh of the current fiscal year. If they look like the Prince of Wales, I strongly resemble Rudolph Valentino. “T’m afraid we'll have to take that new constable off traffic duty, sir!
