What you’re looking at

This page from *Judge* magazine contains humorous poetry mocking golf etiquette and a golfer's excuses. The four illustrated panels at top show a woman persistently appearing alongside a golfer in various scenic locations, captioned "HE WAS ALWAYS THERE. AND THE DOCTOR ADVISED A CHANGE OF SCENE!"—suggesting the golfer cannot escape an unwanted female companion despite traveling. The main poem "Seven?" satirizes a golfer making absurd excuses for poor play, repeatedly claiming "I made that hole in seven!" The accompanying illustration "ON THE RAGGED EDGE" shows a frustrated golfer. The satire targets golf culture's obsession with scores and players' tendency to fabricate explanations for bad performance, poking fun at the sport's pretentiousness and dishonesty among enthusiasts.
