What you’re looking at

This illustrated piece combines a winter scene with two contrasting monologues. The image shows a dog encountering what appears to be a tiger in a snowy landscape—an absurd, impossible situation presented as darkly comedic. "The Christmas Grouch" (left) features someone complaining bitterly about holiday obligations: family gatherings, Christmas carols, and social expectations ("What care I? unless trouble, / Let 'em sing!").
