That you may know how to solve these puzzles the answer for No. 1 is given you. It is “‘Milton."" A similar set of puzzles will appear in each of the two following issues of Jupce. One was contained in in the issue of March 30th. A Check for Twenty Dollars will be sent to the person sending the cor- rect solutions to the twenty-four puzzles appearing in this, the last, and the two next issues (six in each issue), which in the matter of penmanship, neatness, etc., are considered by the editor to be the most worthy. In addition there will be a second prize of $10, four prizes of $5 each, 5 subscriptions to Jupce, and 10 subscriptions to JupGe’s QUARTERLY, twenty-one prizes in all. All, whether regular readers of Jupce or not, may compete. Send in your answers to the four sets of puzzles as Next Series will be Garden Vegetables. soon as possible after the last set has appeared, in the issue of April 20th. Answers received later then May 11th will not be considered. The winners will be announced in the issue of May 25th, but prizes will be awarded shortly after the completion of the contest. The following form of answer is sug- gested, though not required, but the ex- aminations of the answers will be ex- pedited if the blank herewith is used. This is not a guess- ing contest. There is but one solution to each picture, this solution chosen by the editor and on file in our office.
