THE TEDDY BEARS. JONNNY GOES TO SCHOOL TO SPEAK A PIECE CN GEORGE WASHINGTON, AND THEY FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF MARY'S LITTLE LAMS 1, “Now, Teddies. you be good—you hear?” 2. Then Teddies bunched their several heads Thus warningly spoke littie John; To see what they could find to do, “For | am goin’ to school to speak And straight resolved they'd like to go A piece about George Washington.” ‘And see the exercises, too. 3. The naughty imps! So off they went. 4. The window gave ‘way with a crash, They had to climb up to peek in. ‘And six wild, furry beasts fell in. You should have seen them holding on One lit on the old teacher's chest— And waiting for John to begin. You should have heard the frightful din! 5. Then teacher saw "twas all a joke; 6. Each Teddy bled about a pint— But, ‘stead of laughing, he got mad. His very life all round was spilling; He went at those six Teddy bears, For you must know a Teddy bear And what he did to them was sad.
