Eyes, in their gleaming like a tender star, Hath she: defenses more unfailing far ‘Than fortresses, than flags upon the field. Ab, heart of valor, hid in beauty's shield ! In time of peace, a love to languish for. Sons of the Sword—O Samurai! of late If ye be changed from the proud men of yore, This daughter, risen to your high estate, Upholds your honor fairer than before. She is the empire's glory and its power— And yet, in peace, a peerless lovely flower. MENRY TYRRELL HIS GROSS INDIFFERENCE.
