A REMARKABLE TRAIN. One of the most remarkable trains that ever tray- eled over the rails of an American road left Phila delphia recently, destined for Boston. It was com posed of twenty-five cars, all handsomely decorated, and every one of them from first to last loaded with “Hires Rootbeer.” ‘There is no question but that it was the largest consignment of the kind ever made atone time in Amenca. ‘The value of this shipment ‘was nearly one hundred thousand dollars, and it at- tracted great attention among the trade and railroad men, who gave the train the appropriate name of Hires’ Rootbeer Special.”” The cars contained 6,460 cases in all. 4.036 gross, oF 381,040 bottles of Hires’ Rootbeer Extract, sufficient to make 2,905,200 gallons and child in New England. They also contained 2.425 CASES, holding 60,000 pint bottles of rootbeer, ready to drink. “The above figures represent only about one-third of the total amount of this popular beverage consumed in New Ragland during the season, but they give some idea of the wonderful popularity throughout the entire country of this greatest of all temperance drinks. A “Temperance Drink for Temperance People” is the name given this most delightful bev- erage. Composed entirely of roots and herbs without the slightest trace of intoxicants, it is worthy the name.
