What you’re looking at

This page from the satirical magazine *Judge* contains four unrelated humorous cartoons mocking various social absurdities: **"Divulged"** jokes about a well-dressed man's true nature revealed by his behavior toward women. **"In the Style"** satirizes a property owner's absurd excuse for a boy's bulging pockets—claiming it's merely how the pants are cut. **"A Sudden Shrinkage of Courage"** depicts a burglar catching a homeowner searching for valuables, instantly eliminating the owner's bravery. **"A Poorly Prepared Specimen"** uses offensive racial stereotypes common to the era, mocking a Black applicant who claims to be a "tattooed man" but lacks tattoos due to the tattooist's incompetence. The page also includes brief satirical anecdotes about fraudulent patent medicine testimonials and a scientific paper's circular reasoning about sky color. These represent typical *Judge* content: social mockery through caricature and witty dialogue.
