This adventure-horror tale follows six young delta-wing hang-gliders who establish a mountain camp near Morris's relatives' farmland to attempt altitude and duration records. During an afternoon test flight in overcast, windy conditions, Lee's hang-glider is blown off course toward a forested valley. He crashes into a clearing where he discovers a life-sized marble statue of a beautiful female figure on a pedestal. While examining it, Lee finds his boot mysteriously trapped between the statue's arm and body—unable to extract his foot despite the arm being marble. As darkness falls and fine rain begins, Lee grows increasingly disturbed, uncertain whether shock from the crash is affecting his perception or if something genuinely inexplicable is occurring. The narrative ends as he stares at the statue's face, questioning what he perceives.
