Beadle and Adams dime novel (March 29, 1892). "The White Sioux Queen," a serialized frontier adventure by Colonel Prentiss Ingraham, follows two renegade white men: Sam Jenness ("the Red Scalper") and Brad ("Chief Red Hair"), a handsome, red-haired deserter commanding the Sioux.
