# Amazing Stories, Vol. 1, No. 5, August 1926
This issue of Experimenter Publishing Company's Amazing Stories contains four complete tales and two serialized works. Garrett P. Serviss contributes the opening installment of "A Columbus of Space," depicting explorers encountering Venusians on the illuminated side of Venus. H.G. Wells' "The Empire of the Ants" follows, exploring an entomological catastrophe. "The Scientific Adventures of Mr. Fosdick" by Jacque Morgan presents a comical interlude involving the International Electro-Galvanic Undertaking Corporation. Jules Verne's "Doctor Ox's Experiment" examines an experiment with unintended consequences. The second installment of G. McLeod Winsor's "Station X" continues adventures involving Venusians, Martians, and Professor Rudge in conflict. "The Talking Brain" by M.H. Hasta, illustrated on the cover, depicts a famous scientist receiving Morse-code transmissions from a living brain housed in a skull. "High Tension" by Albert B. Stuart, M.D. concludes the content. Hugo Gernsback's editorial argues for tolerance toward scientifiction's seemingly impossible premises.
