Cartoons & Caricature

Lichtensteinia trifida Cham. & Schltdl.

· Collected c. 1830

This is a pressed herbarium specimen, not a cartoon or caricature. The image shows a dried botanical plant mounted on archival paper, bearing an institutional barcode label and a Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew stamp dated 1854. The specimen displays large, crinkled leaves, slender flowering stems with compound umbels, and a separate woody stem fragment. A handwritten annotation identifies the species. No satirical, printmaking, or caricature tradition applies here. This object belongs to the history of scientific natural history collections, not graphic satire. A wall label for a comic art exhibition cannot responsibly be written for this image.
