Vincent Deporter
Vincent Deporter was a Belgian comic and storyboard artist best known for his work on licensed cartoon titles, particularly *Scooby-Doo* and *SpongeBob SquarePants*. He was born on 13 February 1959 in Belgium and died on 25 September 2022.
Deporter began his career as an assistant to Jean Graton, then sold his own strips—published under the name Mike Deporter—to *Spirou* magazine. After relocating to New York in 1996, he joined DC Comics, working on their line of comics adapted from popular animated series, including *Scooby-Doo* and *Ed, Edd n Eddy*. He also inked numerous Batman and Superman style-guides. Later, he became a regular contributor to *SpongeBob Comics* and *Nickelodeon Magazine*.
Beyond humor, Deporter explored philosophical themes, illustrating *Sacred Cows: a Lighthearted Look at Belief and Tradition around the World* by Seth Andrews. He spent his later years in Arizona, painting and writing non-graphic novels. His most-credited titles include *Scooby-Doo*, *Cartoon Cartoons*, and *The Big Book of Bad*.
