Serge Le Tendre
Serge Le Tendre, born 1 December 1946 in France, is a comics writer best known for his long-running fantasy series *La Quête de l'oiseau du temps* (The Quest for the Time Bird), which he co-created with artist Régis Loisel. His career in comics began in the early 1980s, and he has since written over 140 issues, remaining active through 2025. Le Tendre's work often blends mythic quests with psychological depth, and he has collaborated extensively with artists such as Pierre Makyo, Christian Rossi, and TaDuc, as well as writer Rodolphe on several series. Beyond *La Quête de l'oiseau du temps*, his notable co-creations include *Takuan*, *Chinaman*, and *Golias*. His signature style favors intricate, dialogue-driven narratives set in richly imagined worlds. Le Tendre's later career has seen continued output, with his earlier series remaining touchstones of French fantasy comics. He has received several major awards, including the Prix Angoulême for best series, cementing his legacy as a key figure in European bande dessinée.
