Scott Allie
Scott Allie is an American comics writer and editor, born in 1970. He is best known for his long tenure at Dark Horse Comics, where he served as an editor and executive from 1994 to 2017. During that period, he edited major series including *Hellboy* and its related spin-offs—often collaborating with creator Mike Mignola as a co-writer—as well as *The Umbrella Academy*. After leaving his executive role, Allie continued editing for Dark Horse on a freelance basis.
As a writer, Allie is most credited on *Abe Sapien*, *Solomon Kane*, *Star Wars: Empire*, and the *B.P.R.D.* arcs *Garden of Souls* and *The Devil You Know*. He also contributed to the *Titan A.E.* adaptation. His work often intertwined with Mignola’s supernatural universe, where he helped expand the tone and mythology of the Hellboy franchise.
In 2020, Dark Horse severed ties with Allie following allegations of sexual misconduct, effectively ending his professional relationship with the company. His later legacy is thus complicated, marked by both a significant editorial influence on modern horror and superhero-adjacent comics and a fall from industry standing.
