“Betrayal, Part 2 of 4”

Part two of "Betrayal" arrives with a cover that sets the stakes immediately — a masked, cybernetic figure with glowing red eyes dominates the foreground while Darth Vader looms behind him, red lightsaber raised in a threatening arc. The cover's header asks pointedly, "A plot to kill the Emperor and Vader! But who's betraying who?" — a question that gives the whole image a charged, unsettling tension. Brian Horton's cover art makes excellent use of deep reds and shadows to frame this Dark Horse 2002 series as one where Imperial loyalties are anything but certain.
