Pia Guerra

Pia Jasmin Guerra, born in 1971, is an American-born Canadian comic book artist and editorial cartoonist. She is best known as the co-creator and lead penciller of the acclaimed Vertigo series *Y: The Last Man*, which she illustrated from its debut in 2002. Guerra entered the comics industry in the 1990s, working for both DC and Marvel, and later contributed to titles such as *Doctor Who: The Forgotten*, *Hellblazer*, *Black Canary*, *Torchwood*, and *Simpsons Comics*. Her clean, expressive linework and strong storytelling made her a sought-after collaborator, particularly with writer Brian K. Vaughan on *Y: The Last Man*. In addition to her comic work, Guerra is a regular editorial cartoonist for *The New Yorker*, *MAD Magazine*, and *The Nib*, and is the author of the Image Comics collection *Me The People*. Her career spans from 1997 to 2022, with credits on over 80 issues. She has received multiple industry awards for her contributions, and her work remains influential in both mainstream and alternative comics.
