Hellblazer #6
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freePart six of "The Poison Truth" arrives with one of the more unsettling cover images of 2017: John Cassaday renders John Constantine in his familiar trenchcoat and red tie, but where his face should be sits a burning skull — a lit cigarette sending a flame curling upward — while dozens of replicated faces and skulls tile the dark background behind him. The effect suggests a man surrounded by mortality (and perhaps versions of himself) on every side, which feels perfectly suited to DC Universe Rebirth's grittier take on the occult detective. With Simon Oliver writing and Pia Guerra on interior art, this Rebirth era series continues to make a strong case for Constantine's place in the DC Universe.

Long train rides tend to provoke conversation. So, on their way from London to Paris, Mercury tells John of the being she met in the wormhole of The Rot: Adnan the Djinn...brother of Marid. Back in London at the Tate Club, Marid and Clarice have called a meeting of the most noteworthy characters of the underworld to inform them of their plan: to save the human race from themselves.
