Paul Chadwick

Paul Chadwick was born in 1957 in the United States. He is best known as the creator of *Concrete*, a series about a man whose consciousness is trapped inside a massive stone body. Chadwick wrote, drew, and often lettered the series, which began in the mid-1980s and continued through the 2010s. His work on *Concrete* earned him a reputation for thoughtful, character-driven science fiction, with a clean, expressive line and a strong sense of scale. He also contributed to *Star Wars: Empire* and other projects, but *Concrete* remained his signature achievement. Chadwick collaborated with various editors and publishers over the years, but he was the primary creative force behind his most famous work. He received multiple Eisner Awards for *Concrete*, including Best Writer/Artist and Best Continuing Series. Later in his career, he produced the graphic novels *Concrete: Think Like a Mountain*, *Concrete: Strange Armor*, *Concrete: The Human Dilemma*, and *Concrete: Killer Smile*.
