Paul Chadwick's singular creation takes center stage in this 1987 Dark Horse issue as the massive, stone-bodied Concrete is depicted mid-swim beneath the ocean's surface, dwarfing the boat silhouetted above him while colorful fish drift past in the blue-green depths. The cover tagline "The Transatlantic Swim" sets up an ambitious aquatic challenge, and a corner inset teases "The Most Obnoxious Man in the World" — promising that Concrete won't be making this crossing alone. Chadwick's cover art beautifully captures both the character's hulking physicality and a surprising sense of graceful solitude beneath the waves.
