Nathan Hamill
Nathan Hamill is best known as a colorist for Bongo Comics, the studio behind *The Simpsons* and *Futurama* comic book lines. Born on September 25, 1951, in the United States, he is the son of actor Mark Hamill, though he has built his own career in the comic book industry. Hamill’s path into comics began with work at Bongo, where he became a regular colorist from 2004 to 2019, contributing to over 90 issues. His signature style is clean, vibrant, and suited to the animated humor of the licensed titles he worked on. He collaborated frequently with writers and artists on series such as *Simpsons Comics Presents Bart Simpson*, *Bongo Comics Presents Futurama Comics*, and *Simpsons Comics*, as well as specials like *Comic Book Guy: The Comic Book* and *Simpsons Super Spectacular*. Hamill’s color work helped define the look of these popular, all-ages comics during their peak years. While he did not co-create any major characters, his steady contributions supported the visual consistency of Bongo’s output. Later in life, he remained active in the industry until his retirement from coloring in 2019. He has not received major individual awards, but his work on Bongo’s titles—which earned multiple Eisner and Harvey nominations—places him as a reliable craftsman in licensed comics.
