Marley Zarcone is a Canadian comic book artist best known for her work on DC’s *Shade, the Changing Girl* and the Vertigo series *Effigy*. Born in Canada, she came into the industry in the early 2010s, quickly establishing herself as a distinctive visual storyteller. She is a member of the Yosh Comics collective, alongside creators like Brandon Graham and James Stokoe, a group known for its energetic, detail-rich style. In 2015, she launched *Effigy* with writer Tim Seeley for DC’s Vertigo imprint, and the following year she began her most prominent collaboration, co-creating *Shade, the Changing Girl* with Cecil Castellucci for Gerard Way’s Young Animal imprint. Her work on that series, and its follow-up *Shade, the Changing Woman*, showcased her fluid linework and expressive character designs, blending psychedelic and punk influences. Zarcone has also contributed to *Justice League* and *Madame Xanadu*, and she created the short series *Marilyn Manor*. Her art, often marked by intricate patterns and a strong sense of mood, has made her a sought-after collaborator in both indie and mainstream comics. While she has not received major industry awards, her work on *Shade* earned a devoted following. She remains active, with credits spanning from 2010 to 2019, and continues to influence the visual language of contemporary comics.
