Three young people — one drinking from a can, one in a fuzzy trapper hat clutching a red-striped drink, one zoned out in headphones — slump against a graffiti-tagged wall plastered with wanted-style posters of a gun-toting woman, setting up a wonderfully tense contrast between street-level ennui and something more dangerous lurking just behind them. Marley Zarcone's cover art balances a cool, lived-in downtown aesthetic with genuine intrigue, the repeated poster imagery hinting at a world where these kids might be closer to trouble than they look. Nick Spencer, Jorge Coelho, and the rest of the creative team keep Forgetless feeling like one of 2010's most stylishly distinct books.
