Joe Tyler is best known in comics for his extensive writing on Zenescope Entertainment’s *Grim Fairy Tales* and its many spinoffs, particularly the *Wonderland* series. Born January 20, 1948, in the United States, Tyler came to comics later in life, with his first credited work appearing in 2005. Over the next seventeen years, he wrote more than thirty issues, focusing on dark, modernized takes on classic fairy tales and fantasy lore. His most prominent collaborations were with the Zenescope stable, where he helped expand the interconnected universe of *Grim Fairy Tales*, *Return to Wonderland*, and *Grim Fairy Tales Myths & Legends*. Tyler’s style is narrative-driven, often weaving horror and adventure into familiar story frameworks. He is also the brother of noted cartoonist Carol Tyler. Outside of comics, he had an earlier career as an Olympic bobsledder, competing in the two-man and four-man events at the 1980 Winter Games. Tyler’s legacy in comics is tied to his role in shaping Zenescope’s early, influential horror-fantasy line. He has not received major industry awards, but his work remains a staple for fans of the genre.
