Grimm Fairy Tales #26
In "The Little Mermaid Part Two," Lucy’s scheme begins to unravel as Sara realizes Stephen has been using her—now entangled with another woman. When Belinda hands Sara a gun, the moment spirals toward a chilling parallel with the unfinished fairy tale: a desperate choice between love and vengeance, echoing the Little Mermaid’s fateful moment of mercy. Written by Joe Tyler, Ralph Tedesco, Linda Ly, and Raven Gregory, with art by Claudio Sepulveda and colors by Nei Ruffino, this issue unfolds with haunting precision. The cover by Eric Basaldua captures the tension in a single, stark image.

Lucy's plan to have Stephen fall in love with Sara seems to be working until Sara discovers that Stephen was just using her and is now seeing someone else. Belinda gives Lucy a gun that Sara takes to Stephen's apartment. She fires a shot into a vase, but can't bring herself to shoot Stephen. The police arrive and arrest Sara, now pregnant. This mirrors the fairy tale Lucy never finished where the Little Mermaid can break her deal with the Sea Witch by killing the Prince, but she can't bring herself to do it and ends up being killed by the Sea Witch.
