Joe Musial
Joe Musial was an American cartoonist best known for drawing the classic newspaper strip *The Katzenjammer Kids* from 1956 until his death. Born Joseph Musial on January 15, 1905, in the United States, he began his career in comics during the late 1930s, contributing to a wide range of titles including *Ace Comics*, *Magic Comics*, and *Future Comics*. His work also appeared in European publications such as *Le Journal de Mickey* and *Hjemmet*, and he occasionally contributed to *Chic Young's Blondie*. Musial’s style was clean and energetic, well-suited to the slapstick humor of *The Katzenjammer Kids*, a strip he took over from its long-running predecessors. He continued the tradition of the mischievous twins and their chaotic adventures with a steady hand, maintaining the strip’s popularity for over two decades. Musial passed away on June 6, 1977, leaving behind a legacy as a reliable craftsman who kept a beloved comic institution alive for a new generation of readers.
