Jimmy Cheung
Jim Cheung (born 1972) is a British comic book artist best known for his detailed, expressive work on Marvel’s young superhero teams. Born in the United Kingdom, he entered the industry in the mid-1990s and gained early recognition for his clean, dynamic style on the series *Scion*. Cheung’s most significant contribution came in 2005 when he co-created the Marvel team the Young Avengers, designing key members including Kate Bishop, Hulkling, Iron Lad, Patriot, Speed, and Wiccan. His work on *Young Avengers* and its sequel *Avengers: The Children’s Crusade* showcased his ability to balance action with character-driven storytelling. Cheung also illustrated *New Avengers: Illuminati* and contributed to major titles such as *Iron Man*, *Avengers*, and *Strange*. Over a career spanning from 1995 to 2021, he was credited as artist or inker on 14 issues for the publisher. His later work included covers and interior art for collections like *Thor Epic Collection* and the crossover *Spider-Men: Worlds Collide*. While he never received a major industry award, Cheung’s clean linework and knack for youthful, expressive faces left a lasting imprint on Marvel’s 2000s era, influencing a generation of artists.
