Jim Salicrup
Jim Salicrup was born on May 29, 1957, in the United States. He is best known as a longtime comic book editor, particularly for his two decades at Marvel Comics, where he oversaw major titles like *Uncanny X-Men*, *Fantastic Four*, *The Avengers*, and various Spider-Man series. He later brought that editorial expertise to Topps Comics, handling licensed properties such as *Bram Stoker's Dracula*, *The X-Files*, and *Zorro*.
Salicrup's path into comics began in the late 1970s, and he soon became a fixture at Marvel. As a writer and artist, he contributed to over 128 issues between 1976 and 2021, with his most credited work appearing in *Marvel Age*, *Spidey Super Stories*, and titles for *WWE Superstars*, *Doctor Who*, *The Transformers*, and *The Inhumanoids*. His style was versatile, adapting to both superhero fare and licensed adaptations.
After Marvel, Salicrup worked at Stan Lee Media before becoming editor-in-chief at Papercutz, where he shepherded graphic novel adaptations of *Nancy Drew* and *The Hardy Boys*. He also served as a trustee for the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art. While not heavily decorated with major awards, his steady hand guided some of the industry's most popular series during pivotal eras, and his later work helped introduce a new generation to classic characters.
