George Caragonne
George Caragonne (September 16, 1965 – July 20, 1995) was an American comic book writer and editor best known as a co-founder of *Penthouse Comix* magazine. Born in 1965, he entered the industry in 1986 and worked steadily for nearly a decade. Caragonne’s most credited titles include *Masters of the Universe*, *Link: The Legend of Zelda*, *What If...?*, *Nintendo Comics System*, *Dino Riders*, and *Men’s Adventure Comix*, where he contributed as artist, inker, and writer across 51 issues. His style was clean and accessible, suited to both licensed properties and adult-oriented material. He collaborated with various artists and writers on these projects, though his most notable co-creation was the launch of *Penthouse Comix*, a short-lived but ambitious adult comic magazine. Caragonne died by suicide on July 20, 1995, at age 29. His career, though cut short, left a mark on licensed comics and the adult-comics market of the 1990s. He received no major awards during his lifetime.
