Bronwyn Carlton
Bronwyn Carlton is an American comic book writer, editor, and radio DJ, best known for her work on DC Comics' *Catwoman* and the fantasy series *The Books of Faerie*. Born in the United States, she entered comics as an editor, working on DC's experimental Paradox Press and Piranha Press imprints before moving to Marvel to help launch the Marvel Knights line. As a writer, she contributed to *Batman* and *Detective Comics*, but her most sustained work came on *Catwoman* and the *Books of Faerie* spin-offs, including *Auberon's Tale*. She also wrote for Paradox's *The Big Book of Death*. Carlton's style is literate and character-driven, often exploring magical or noir-tinged corners of the DC universe. Her key collaborators included artist Peter Gross on the *Books of Faerie* series. Later, she shifted away from mainstream comics, though she continued to write occasionally. Outside of comics, Carlton has been a DJ for New Jersey free-form station WFMU since 1988, hosting shows like "Truck Stop Tea Party." She has also spoken publicly about living with prosopagnosia, or face blindness, and advocates for its recognition as a disability. In 2008, she appeared in the documentary *Guest of Cindy Sherman*.
