Babs Tarr is an American comic book artist best known for her work on *Batgirl* and her Japanese-influenced illustration style. Born in 1987, she entered the industry as a freelance artist, quickly making a name for herself at DC Comics and Image Comics. Her most prominent work came on *Batgirl*, where she brought a fresh, energetic aesthetic to the character, blending Western comic storytelling with manga-inspired linework and fashion-forward designs. Tarr also co-created the series *Motor Crush* with writers Brenden Fletcher and Cameron Stewart, showcasing her versatility as an artist, colorist, and occasional writer. Her style is characterized by dynamic poses, expressive faces, and a vibrant, pop-art palette. Beyond *Batgirl* and *Motor Crush*, she contributed to *Harley Quinn*, *Vampirella / Red Sonja*, and the German-language *Batgirl - Die neuen Abenteuer*. Active from 2014 to 2020, Tarr’s work helped redefine the visual language of modern superhero comics, particularly for younger audiences. Though she has stepped back from regular monthly comics, her influence persists in the industry’s embrace of diverse artistic influences.
