Alan Burnett

Alan Burnett was born on February 17, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio. An American television writer and producer, he became a key creative force in animated superhero storytelling, particularly through his long association with Warner Bros. Animation, Hanna-Barbera, DC Comics, and Disney Television Animation. Burnett earned a degree from the University of Florida and an MFA in film production from the University of Southern California before entering the industry.

He is best known for his extensive work on DC animated projects, having been involved in nearly every such series from the later seasons of *Super Friends* onward. For Disney, he contributed to the 1990s Disney Afternoon, notably on *Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears* and various projects within the Scrooge McDuck universe. Burnett occasionally worked on film projects tied to these television programs.

In comics, he is credited as a writer on 49 issues from 1990 to 2024, with his most prominent work appearing in *Batman: The Adventures Continue* and its sequels, as well as *Superman/Batman*, *The Flash*, and *Justice League of America*.
