Part five of "Torment" arrives with a cover that's hard to look away from: Superman lies sprawled and agonized at the bottom of the composition, pinned by a blinding beam of energy channeled through an elderly, robed figure whose ornate staff crackles with power. Batman and a red-eyed, stone-faced villain loom on either side above, framing the scene with unmistakable menace. Dustin Nguyen and Derek Fridolfs deliver a striking visual that captures the arc's title perfectly — this is purgatory in every sense of the word.
