Texas Twister
Drew Daniels is a Texas-born cowboy who gained the ability to generate and control powerful tornado-force winds through a freak accident involving a government experimental gas. Trained in unarmed combat by S.H.I.E.L.D., he became the hero Texas Twister and served with the Rangers as Texas's Initiative team.
A genuine Bronze Age product of Marvel's most creative era, Texas Twister spun onto the scene in Fantastic Four #177 in 1976, courtesy of the legendary team of Roy Thomas, Mike Friedrich, and George Pérez. Over an impressive four-decade stretch through 2017, this Lone Star hero carved out a place in Marvel's wider universe with affiliations spanning the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and S.H.I.E.L.D. — about as well-connected as a character can get. His most prominent stomping grounds include Avengers: The Initiative and Captain America, where he shares adventures with heavy hitters like Iron Man, Captain America, and the ever-lovable Thing. With three key-issue appearances to his name, Texas Twister is a rewarding deep-cut discovery for any Bronze Age enthusiast who loves finding the hidden gems woven into Marvel's rich tapestry.
