Who is Skullcruncher?

Skullcruncher is a Decepticon Headmaster — a Transformer who bonds with a Nebulan partner that transforms into his head, granting both enhanced abilities. A savage, crocodile-alt-mode warrior, he debuted amid the conflict surrounding Scorponok's Decepticon faction on the planet Nebulos.

Few Transformers villains carry a name quite as memorably menacing as Skullcruncher, who crashed onto the scene in Marvel's The Transformers: Headmasters #1 in 1987, courtesy of Bob Budiansky and Frank Springer. A product of the Copper Age's bold, mythology-expanding era of Transformers storytelling, he's part of a dangerous corner of the Marvel universe where the likes of Scorponok, Optimus Prime, Hot Rod, and Kup clash in epic robotic conflict. His appearances across The Transformers and the Headmasters miniseries place him firmly in one of the most beloved and collectible chapters of the franchise's comics history. With nearly four decades of catalog presence, Skullcruncher is a rewarding deep-cut discovery for any serious Transformers comics enthusiast.
