Psyklop
Psyklop is an ancient insectoid alien servant of the Dark Gods, awakened from suspended animation and tasked with capturing a powerful being — leading him to shrink and abduct the Hulk — while also developing an obsession with the subatomic world of K'ai.
Few villains make an entrance quite like Psyklop — debuting in The Avengers #88 in 1971, conjured up by the remarkable creative trinity of Roy Thomas, Harlan Ellison, and Sal Buscema right at the dawn of Marvel's Bronze Age. This insectoid menace carved out his niche primarily in the pages of The Incredible Hulk, sharing those wild, imaginative stories with Bruce Banner, the Hulk himself, and the beloved Jarella, as well as luminaries like Captain America and the Black Knight. Though his catalog footprint is a compact eleven appearances across fifty years, that debut issue carries genuine key-issue weight among collectors — a testament to the lasting impression this singular creature made. For fans who love the stranger, more cosmic corners of Marvel's Bronze Age, Psyklop is exactly the kind of cult figure worth tracking down.
