Peg Wilson
Peg Wilson is Spike's mother and a recurring adult figure in Sheldon Mayer's Sugar & Spike, the classic DC series following two toddlers who communicate in baby talk unintelligible to the grown-up world around them.
A warm presence in one of DC's most beloved and charming series, Peg Wilson made her debut in the very first issue of Sugar & Spike in 1956, brought to life by the wonderfully inventive Sheldon Mayer. She shares the pages of that delightful run with the likes of Sugar Plumm, Spike Wilson, and the rest of the Plumm and Wilson households, the grown-up world that surrounds Mayer's iconic baby duo. Though her appearances are modest in number, being part of Sugar & Spike from its very beginning gives her a special place in mid-century DC history β this series is a genuine gem of its era, and any character woven into its earliest issues is well worth a collector's attention.
