N'astirh
N'astirh is a powerful demon from Otherplace (also known as Limbo), the hellish dimension ruled by Illyana Rasputin. An ambitious and cunning schemer among Limbo's demonic inhabitants, he engineered a massive demonic invasion of New York City known as the Inferno.
Few villains made their Marvel debut with as much infernal impact as N'astirh, the demon sorcerer who first clawed his way onto the page in X-Factor #32 in 1988, courtesy of Tom DeFalco, Louise Simonson, and Steve Lightle. A creature of the Copper Age at its most deliciously dark, N'astirh carved out a significant place in the X-Men corner of the Marvel Universe, haunting the pages of Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, and X-Terminators across more than three decades — sharing some of comics' most charged storylines with luminaries like Cyclops, Jean Grey, and the enigmatic Illyana Rasputina. With two key-issue appearances to his name and affiliations spanning the X-Men, Avengers, Marauders, and X-Factor, this demon has proven far more than a one-arc wonder. If you love the era when Marvel's mutant books went genuinely gothic and apocalyptic, N'astirh is absolutely worth tracking down.
