Mister Terrific
Terry Sloane was a brilliant all-around athlete and scholar who, feeling he had nothing left to achieve, found new purpose fighting crime as Mister Terrific — the "Man of 1000 Talents" — wearing a jacket emblazoned with "Fair Play."
Few names in DC's Golden Age carry quite the weight of Mister Terrific, who first leapt off the page in All-Star Comics #8 back in 1941, courtesy of creators Gardner Fox and Stan Asch. With a publishing history stretching across an extraordinary 83 years, this is a character who has clearly resonated through every era of comics — from the dawn of the superhero age right into the modern day. Along the way, Mister Terrific has shared adventures with some of DC's most iconic figures, including Green Lantern, The Flash, Hawkman, and The Atom, and has turned up across marquee titles like Justice League of America and Batman. Two key collector issues mark their legacy, making this a name any serious DC enthusiast will want on their radar.
