Mainframe
Mainframe is a next-generation hero of the Marvel Universe, operating alongside young legacy heroes such as Spider-Girl and Stinger as part of the Avengers Next, a future-era team carrying on the Avengers' legacy in the MC2 alternate timeline.
Mainframe made their Marvel debut in 1999, stepping onto the scene during the Modern Age in the pages of Spider-Woman #3, courtesy of creator Chris Giarrusso. This character carved out a niche in a corner of the Marvel Universe defined by legacy and next-generation heroism, sharing adventures with the likes of Spider-Girl, Stinger, Cassandra Lang, and May Parker across titles like Avengers Next and the fan-favorite Spider-Girl series. With 15 catalog appearances and a key issue to their name, Mainframe may not be the most prolific figure in the Marvel library, but they're a genuine piece of that late-'90s/early-2000s future-Marvel tapestry β exactly the kind of discovery that makes digging through back issues so rewarding.
