Lt. Jeb Stuart
Lt. Jeb Stuart is a U.S. Army tank commander in DC's World War II war comics, leading his crew aboard the haunted Sherman tank known as the Haunted Tank — guided, according to legend, by the ghost of Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart.
Haunting the foxholes and tank turrets of DC's celebrated war comics, Lt. Jeb Stuart made his Silver Age debut in G.I. Combat #105 in 1964, brought to life by Hank Chapman and Jack Abel. Over a remarkable 21-year run through 1985, he carved out a place in the gritty, morally serious world of DC war comics, sharing pages with icons like Sgt. Rock and even Superman across titles including Our Army at War and, notably, Crisis on Infinite Earths. That last credit alone signals a character whose footprint extended well beyond the battlefield and into the grandest events DC ever staged. With a key collector issue to his name and a lineage that spans some of the finest war comics of the Silver Age, Lt. Jeb Stuart is a rewarding discovery for any fan digging into DC's rich military comics heritage.
