Who is Lloyd Llewellyn?

Lloyd Llewellyn is a laid-back young man living in a retro-futuristic 1950s-styled world, created by Gilbert Hernandez as a comedic counterpart to the grittier Locas and Palomar stories in the Love and Rockets universe.

Gilbert Hernandez introduced Lloyd Llewellyn to the world in the pages of Love and Rockets #13 back in 1985, and this Fantagraphics cult figure has been quietly earning his devoted admirers ever since. A product of the Bronze Age alternative comics scene, Lloyd inhabits a wonderfully offbeat corner of the Hernandez universe, sharing panels with the likes of Maggie Chascarillo and Luba β€” names that signal just how rich and interconnected this world is. With his own dedicated series and a Special to his name, Lloyd is far more than a supporting player; he's a character who rewards the curious reader willing to dig into Fantagraphics' celebrated catalog. Fourteen appearances spread across three decades tell the story of a figure who, like the best of Love and Rockets, lingers in the imagination long after the last page is turned.
