Justiceiro
Justiceiro is the Brazilian Portuguese name for the Punisher (Frank Castle), Marvel's skull-emblazoned vigilante who wages a one-man war on crime using military skills and weapons acquired during his time as a U.S. Marine, driven by the murder of his family.
Bursting onto the Brazilian comics scene in 1983 with Homem-Aranha #1 — brought to life by a powerhouse creative team including Frank Miller, Denny O'Neil, and Klaus Janson — Justiceiro is a Bronze Age figure published by Editora Abril whose presence endured across an impressive nearly three decades of Marvel material in Brazil. He turns up most frequently across the pages of Superaventuras Marvel, Marvel Série I, and Marvel Série II, sharing those adventures with some of the heaviest hitters in the Marvel universe: Demolidor, Matt Murdock, Homem-Aranha, and Wolverine. With that caliber of company and that pedigree of creators behind his debut, Justiceiro is a genuine artifact of the rich, distinct history of Brazilian Marvel publishing — a character worth tracking down for any serious collector with an eye for the international side of the Bronze Age.
