Happy
Happy is one of Snow White's Seven Dwarfs, the jovial, round-faced dwarf whose boundless cheerfulness and hearty laugh define his personality. He first appeared in Disney's 1937 animated film before transitioning to comics pages.
Straight out of the Platinum Age, Happy made his comics debut in 1938's Mickey Mouse Magazine β placing him among the earliest wave of characters to leap from the silver screen onto the four-color page. Published under the Dell banner, he's spent over eight decades popping up across beloved titles like Four Color, Walt Disney Comics Digest, and Disney's Enchanting Stories, always in the cheerful company of Doc, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Dopey. With at least one key-issue appearance to his name and a publishing span stretching all the way to 2020, this grinning little figure is a genuine piece of comics history β modest in page count, but rich in the warm, nostalgic magic that makes vintage Dell Disney comics so worth hunting down.
