Mickey Mouse Magazine
Western · 1935–1940 · 60 issues
About the series
Running for 60 issues from 1935 to 1940, Western Publishing's Mickey Mouse Magazine was a lively, all-ages anthology that brought Disney's core cast—Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, and Morty—into monthly comic adventures. Anchored by the steady hands of writers Merrill De Maris and Ted Osborne, and artists Floyd Gottfredson and Manuel Gonzales, the series helped define the look and voice of Disney comics during a formative era. As an early, long-running Disney comic title, it's a key piece of the foundation for the character-driven humor and streamlined art that would dominate the genre for decades.
